At the beginning of 2018, the Initiative for the Salvation of Medvednica grew into the Green Squad – a section of the VIDRA association, whose field of activity extends to the entire Republic of Croatia. With numerous tours of devastated terrains, and in situ collected evidence of the committed ecocide, we organize protest marches, numerous protests in front of the competent institutions, and almost on a weekly basis we come forward with demands to stop the deforestation.
The Green Squad, the section of the veterans’ association VIDRA, has been working for more than four years in an organized and intensive way to prove and stop criminal activities of organized devastation of Croatian forests.
We have organized three protest marches (to save the forests of Medvednica, Žumberak Highlands and Petrova Gora) and dozens of public events, lectures, protests, press conferences and reports of irregularities and lawsuits to the competent institutions, which the Croatian mainstream (controlled) media sporadically reported, while local and alternative media were somewhat bolder.
